Pangdens are colorful, woven aprons worn by women throughout the Himalayas. They differ in color from one area to another, from neutral shades to very bright colors but all have weaves of natural or synthetic yarn in bands of alternating colors. Pangdens often signify that a woman is married and are often used to keep women warm in cold Himalayan climates. The inspiration for this series came from a pangden worn by one of the women of Blessed Hope Nepal. The women of Blessed Hope Nepal are eager to share this series with you because of their pride in their culture and the tradition of the pangden.
